From Student Employee to Regional Responsibility: My Journey at Nexus Group

Career paths are rarely linear. When I look back on my time at the Nexus Group, I do not primarily think about job titles or positions. Instead, I think about the many opportunities I have had to learn, take on responsibility, and continuously develop both professionally and personally.
Summary:

My journey at NexusGroup began as a working student, handling translations and newsletters. Over the years, new projects, responsibilities, and learning opportunities were added – ranging from marketing automation and partner management to taking responsibility for the development and results of an entire region. Looking back, my career path primarily demonstrates one thing: if you are willing to learn and take on responsibility, Nexus Group provides the opportunity for continuous professional growth.

My First Steps as a Working Student

My journey at the Nexus Group began while I was still studying. As a bilingual working student, I was initially responsible for translating blog articles, newsletters, and other content for Startups.ch and Findea.ch.
At that time, the digital world looked quite different from today. Modern translation and AI tools were not yet part of everyday work. Much of the content therefore had to be created, translated, and prepared manually.
These tasks gave me my first insight into the world of marketing and into the different companies that make up the Nexus Group.

From Supporting to Contributing

Over time, I became increasingly involved in a variety of marketing projects. Alongside my responsibilities as a working student, I had the opportunity to support our Chief Marketing Officer with various marketing tasks and projects.
This allowed me not only to execute individual tasks but also to understand how marketing processes work and how they contribute to the success of a company.
For me, it was a valuable learning experience that went far beyond what I had learned during my studies.

Taking on Responsibility from the Start

After completing my studies, I was offered a full-time position.
One challenge that stands out in particular was the implementation of a modern marketing automation and CRM system, as well as the transition from numerous manual processes to automated workflows.
Looking back, it was a role that came with significant responsibility. Much of what I needed to know, I had to learn myself through experimentation and hands-on experience. At the same time, I always knew that support was available whenever I needed it.
This combination of trust and support has shaped my entire journey at the Nexus Group.

New Challenges, New Interests

At the same time, I was given the opportunity to contribute to our first smaller co-partnerships. What initially started as a supporting role gradually evolved into an independent area of responsibility.
Over time, I was entrusted with managing a large part of our partnerships and actively contributing to their development.
Along the way, I discovered that partnership management was something I genuinely enjoyed. Building relationships, developing solutions together, and creating long-term collaborations are activities that continue to motivate me today.
The Nexus Group not only supported my professional development in this area but also encouraged me to strengthen my communication and interpersonal skills.

Learning Never Stops

Another important milestone was implementing the same solution within one of our sister companies, this time with a much stronger focus on sales and customer management.
Once again, many things were new. I had to learn new concepts, acquire new skills, and step outside my comfort zone.
That is one of the things I still appreciate most about the Nexus Group. New responsibilities are not seen merely as challenges but also as opportunities for personal and professional growth.
During my time with the company, I have had the opportunity to contribute to numerous projects, attend training courses, earn certifications, and continuously develop new skills. Many of these experiences would not have been possible without the trust and support of my colleagues.

Why I Stayed

From the outside, spending many years with the same company may seem like a long time. Personally, however, it has never felt that way to me.
Not because time passed particularly quickly, but because new projects, responsibilities, and learning opportunities kept emerging. Just when I had become comfortable in one area, another opportunity arose to learn something new or take on additional responsibility.
As a result, I never felt like my professional development had come to a standstill.

Growth Does Not End with a Promotion

Today, I am responsible for the development and performance of an entire region within our business while continuing to work on various projects and partnerships.
When people ask me why I am still part of the Nexus Group after all these years, the answer is not a specific position or a particular project.
It is because I have never stopped learning. Time and again, new opportunities have emerged to take ownership, develop new skills, and grow beyond my previous capabilities.

Conclusion

My journey at the Nexus Group began with translations and newsletters. Today, it includes marketing, partnership management, projects, and responsibility for the development of an entire region.
To me, this journey demonstrates one thing above all: growth is not simply about titles or hierarchy levels. It happens when people are trusted, encouraged to try new things, and given the opportunity to learn continuously.
Those opportunities have shaped my path at the Nexus Group – and they are exactly why I am excited about what lies ahead.
