The individual development plan (IDP) at Nexus Group: More than just further training

At Nexus Group, we promote talent with individual development plans. Clear goals, targeted training, and regular discussions ensure that our employees grow—professionally, personally, and together with us.

At the Nexus Group, we use individual development plans (IDPs) to promote our employees' professional and personal development in a targeted manner. These plans are based on clear goals, agreed measures and a timeframe. This creates a binding framework that considers the needs of our company and the interests of our employees.

Practical example from marketing

After receiving training in the fundamentals of social media management, a new colleague will initially undertake supporting tasks such as planning posts, preparing image material and evaluating basic key figures using the standard analysis tools. During this phase, they familiarise themselves with our internal processes, brand guidelines and target groups. After a few weeks, they can independently implement smaller projects, such as posting content for seasonal campaigns or managing individual social media channels. She receives regular feedback from the marketing management team to help her gradually improve the quality of her work. This creates a solid foundation on which her area of responsibility can be expanded within the framework of the IDP.

The agreement for the learning process

As part of the IDP, it has been agreed that she will design and manage campaigns independently within the next six months. The agreement is as follows: We will invest in training in content strategy, advertising and analysis tools, and the employee will commit to applying what she has learnt in practice immediately and presenting her progress regularly.

Step-by-step skills development

This approach creates a clear learning path, whereby the employee builds up their skills step by step, gains experience and takes on more responsibility. For us, this means providing tailored talent development to create motivated specialists who will be valuable long term.

Continuous review

To ensure the IDP remains effective, we regularly discuss it with our employees. We evaluate progress, define new goals and adjust measures to ensure that the development process is always aligned with current requirements and potential.
