Why we believe that the Nexus Group is a modern enterprise

What defines a modern company? We studied the cultures of companies such as Netflix, Amazon, and Microsoft—and discovered that we also live by many of these principles at the Nexus Group. A look at the characteristics of modern organizations.

In the past, we have studied the corporate cultures of organizations such as Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in depth. These companies are considered examples of modern organizations that are successfully navigating a world of rapid change. They have found ways to continuously adapt, learn quickly, and drive innovation in a sustainable manner.

It is striking that many of these companies have certain characteristics in common. They think long-term, act in a customer-oriented manner, experiment quickly, and consistently focus on learning and implementation.

When we think about what makes a modern company, we realize that many of these characteristics also apply to us. That is why we believe that the Nexus Group is a modern company.

Here are some of the characteristics that we believe distinguish a modern company—and that we actively embody.

1. A learn-it-all high-performance culture

A modern company has a learn-it-all high-performance culture that promotes growth and innovation. We also see learning as a continuous process. We don't want to be the ones who think they already know everything – we want to be the ones who learn something new every day.

2. Customer first

A modern company has a clear customer-first mentality. It's not just about satisfying customers, but inspiring them. At the same time, it also means innovating on behalf of customers – recognizing needs that they themselves have not yet clearly articulated.

3. A clear purpose

A modern company has a clear purpose that describes who we are and what we stand for. This clarity provides orientation and influences every mission, every strategy, and every experiment.

4. Technology as a catalyst for change

A modern company uses technology as a driver for change. Technology is not just a tool, but a central lever for creating new opportunities and enabling progress.

5. Execution beats everything

A modern company knows that execution beats everything. Ideas and strategies are important – but in the end, implementation determines whether something is successful.

6. Every employee is an entrepreneur

In a modern company, every employee is an entrepreneur. Responsibility for growth lies not only with management, but with everyone in the company.

7. Rapid experimentation

Modern companies experiment quickly with new products and business models. Teams test ideas, learn from results, and iteratively develop solutions.

8. Investments are based on usage and adoption

A modern company makes investment decisions based on actual usage and adoption – not just on theoretical business cases or ROI calculations.

9. A 21st-century organizational structure

Modern companies have organizational structures with small, autonomous teams that are empowered to make quick decisions.

10. Taking a stand

A modern company knows that taking a stand is no longer optional. Activism and clear positions are part of what is expected of organizations in the 21st century.

11. Resource strength instead of resource dependency

A modern company knows how to achieve great things with existing resources. Focus, creativity, prioritization, and determination are more important than the amount of resources.

12. Long-term thinking

Managers in modern companies make decisions based on long-term goals – not just short-term metrics.

Ultimately, modern companies understand a fundamental truth: no one wins unless everyone wins. That's why they try to be strong in all these dimensions at the same time.

We believe that these principles are what define us as the Nexus Group – and help us to be a modern company.
